- A handy size floating dock (Internal dim.: 197 x 26.5 m - Lifting cap.: 19,000 tons).

DESAN SHIPYARD was established in early 1970's. During those times, the shipyard was mainly serving domestic clients for newbuilding and repair. By the end of 1990's, DESAN was the first Turkish shipyard that had exported a chemical tanker to a foreign customer.
DESAN was acquired by the Kaptanoğlu Holding in September 2006. Thereafter, a 10 million USD investment was materialized by the Holding to improve the infrastructure of the yard, both on the newbuilding and the ship repair front. Read more...

Ship Repairs & Conversions
During the last couple of years, DESAN have proven their position as a reliable partner to all their international customers. In 2008, 85% of their clients were international clients. Nowadays, DESAN's focus and significant success on the ship repair sector are evident and have an increased number of repair projects this year in comparison with 2008.
Significant steel renewals, all with IACS approved steel (normally ABS & DNV) are a usual part of the projects undertaken, in view of yard's very competitive prices, terms and conditions. DESAN maintains the same main workshops for steelworks, which ensures a uniform quality.
Demanding / major mechanical jobs have been successfully accomplished over the recent years, without raised claims.
